Both / And Intervention Tool - Children (General) (Worksheet + Clinical Guide)
Both / And: Hopes & Worries Worksheet and Play Therapy Companion Guide for Children
Help children explore mixed feelings, internal conflict, hopes, worries, and emotional flexibility through a nervous-system-informed, play-therapy-friendly intervention.
Both / And is a trauma-informed therapeutic worksheet and companion guide designed to help children recognize that different parts of them may hold both hopes and worries at the same time. Instead of framing emotions as “good” or “bad,” this intervention supports curiosity, self-compassion, flexibility, and co-regulation.
Using child-friendly language and engaging visual supports, children are invited to explore how one part may hope for connection, belonging, support, or understanding while another part worries about rejection, hurt, embarrassment, failure, or safety.
